چکیده

Delayed onset low molecular weight heparin induced skin necrosis is a rare adverse event. It usually occurs at the site of injection, and typically develops within 2 weeks starting therapy. However, in our case, we presented 62-year-old woman who on Hemodialysis twice week. Her hemodialysis prescription included Enoxaparine 0.2 cc IV as anticoagulant. On her third month regular hemodialysis, she developed right leg left hand. The diagnosis was made clinically by exclusion other possible causes chronic kidney disease patient, such calciphylaxis. most important aspect management, this early recognition withdrawal its use, which were done patient.

Low Molecular Weight Heparin-Induced Skin Necrosis: A Case Report

Low molecular weight heparins (LMWHs) are the standard agents used for antithrombotic therapy and prophylaxis. Despite their widespread use, reports about adverse effects from LMWHs are very scarce. Heparin-induced skin necrosis at the injection site is a rare adverse effect, more commonly associated with unfractionated heparin (UFH) rather than with LMWH, while its mechanism remains unclear. T...

Late-onset Warfarin Induced Skin Necrosis: In a Hemodialysis Patient

Chronic dialysis patients frequently present with necrotic skin lesions. The differential diagnoses are broad and complex. The main focus of this paper is differentiating features of two diagnostic entities: Warfarin induced skin necrosis and calciphylaxis as early recognition and treatment may prevent the significant mortality. We discuss a case involving a hemodialysis patient, who developed ...

Low Molecular Weight Heparin Induced Skin Necrosis without Platelet Fall Revealing Immunoallergic Heparin Induced Thrombocytopenia

Low molecular weight heparins (LMWH) are commonly used in the ICU setting for thromboprophylaxis as well as curative decoagulation as required during renal replacement therapy (RRT). A rare adverse event revealing immunoallergic LMWH induced thrombopenia (HIT) is skin necrosis at injection sites. We report the case of a patient presenting with skin necrosis witnessing an HIT after RRT, without ...

Low Molecular Weight Heparin Overdose: A 10 Year Case Series

Background: Low molecular weight heparin (LMWH) is used for the treatment and prevention of coagulative disorders. Few patients receiving therapeutic doses of LMWH develop major hemorrhage. Currently there are few reports in the literature on acute overdose on adults.  In this study, clinical profile, treatment and outcome of 21 patients who acutely overdosed enoxaparin are described. Method...
